Join Cooperation Jackson Tuesday, March 24th at 6 pm for a community planning session on how to redevelop the Ida B. Wells Plaza (formerly known as the West Park Mall). We will focus on the following:
- What type of businesses and institutions we need in the plaza and how to attract them or start them ourselves.
- Development short-term solutions to the food scarcity problem we have in West Jackson that was further aggravated by the departure of Dollar General from the Plaza.
- Developing regular programming for the community at the Ida B. Wells Plaza to meet various social and consumption needs.
We will be looking to form working groups or committees drawn from members of the community to administer and develop this work. So, come join us.
The meeting is going to be held at the Kuwasi Balagoon Center for Economic Democracy and Sustainable Development located at 939 W. Capitol Street, Jackson, MS.
