Cooperation Jackson is participating in the Year of Return Exchange Trip to Accra, Ghana for the Repaired Nations Cooperative Conference. The Mississippi delegation includes members Monica Atkins, Bridgeet Olugbala, Endesha Juakali, Sacajawea Hall and Kevin Matory who will travel to Ghana in October with an intergenerational collective of Black cooperative entrepreneurs, artist, and activist to take part in a creative collaboration, cultural and ancestral connections, engage in critical conversation regarding international cooperative exchange of resources and an Unconference that will draft an equitable development policy.

Our delegation will present at the Unconference on the legacy of Slavery in Mississippi, particularly the ongoing inequities in labor and the economy. We will also share Cooperation Jackson’s work that promotes worker ownership through our current efforts to build a solidarity economy towards black self-determination and economic democracy.
