Black August Resistance 2022
Black August originated in the California prison system in the 1970's to honor fallen Freedom Fighters Jonathan Jackson, George Jackson, William Christmas, James McClain and Khatari Gaulden. Over the years, Black August incorporated the heroic acts of resistance of Black people in the Western Hemisphere, like the launch of the Haitian revolution in August 1791.
Black August is dedicated to fortifying our minds, bodies and spirits in the pursuit of liberation. This entails engaging in joint study, joint exercise, joint fasting, and community sharing.
