Fearless Cities North America Regional Summit, to be held on July 27-29, 2018 in New York City, is the first ever municipalist summit in North America.
Coordinated by Movement Netlab, Cooperation Jackson, and New York University's Collaborative on Global Urbanism, in partnership with the international Fearless Cities municipalist network, and led by an active steering committee made up of stakeholders and organizers, this three day gathering will catalyze new avenues of work and deeper alliances amongst aligned projects.
Intended outcomes of Fearless Cities include: ● Galvanize a growing network of municipalist movements ● Coalesce municipalist projects in Canada, Mexico, and the United States ● Build infrastructure for ongoing communication and collaboration
Including participation from Mexico, Canada, the United States, and international experts from around the globe, this summit is a unique opportunity to strengthen cross regional collaboration and activate a powerful network of localized projects that are already creating change in their communities.
Fearless Cities is an opportunity to: ● Share successes and setbacks for movements at different stages of development ● Provide hands-on opportunities to test new tools for participatory democracy ● Learn from politicians and organizers who are using these models
Childcare and interpretation will be provided at the opening plenary and all sessions at 20 Cooper Square. All locations are ADA accessible and gender neutral bathrooms are provided in all locations.
